Cookery Magic
A company gets to know itself through food.

A company gets to know itself through food.
I proposed a cookbook that would bring S3 together through employees’ favourite dishes and the stories behind them. People, rather than job titles, became the protagonists. The book was arranged alphabetically by contributor, with an apron portrait, a personal story and recipes cooked, tested and photographed by the project team. It became a gift for employees and partners, and a culinary gift in promotions for Ariete kitchen appliances distributed by S3, including food processors and mixers.
Idea, art direction and food styling: Vladimir Shmoylov. Recipes and personal stories: S3 employees. Full team credits are listed with each volume.
Two volumes, 2013 and 2015. The story of participation and promotional use is the author’s account.

2013 · An invitation to share
At first, colleagues were hesitant to contribute. The first volume used a flexible layout, giving each person room for their own voice and recipes. Names and cities appeared without job titles; two contents lists let readers browse by people or by dish. Cooking every recipe made the book a practical collection as well as a shared portrait of the company.

2015 · From invitation to selection
The response to the first book led to a second volume two years later. By then, so many colleagues wanted to take part that I selected the most interesting recipes and stories. The second book continued the personal format and recipe testing, with a new food shoot. Prepared in 2015, it became a gift for the New Year of 2016.
